Beware of fake agents, MCC warns Medical Aspirants
Do you know, the fake agents and allotment letters issued by scrupulous persons on behalf of them can ruin your career? The Medical Counselling Council (MCC) has asked the undergraduate medical aspirants to beware of fake agents as they may land the students in deep trouble.
As the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the NEET Exam 2022, the race for admissions in MBBS, BDS and other medical courses started. We all are aware that only a handful of 16 lakh aspirants who appeared in the NEET exam were able to clear the cut-off set for admissions in various medical/dental colleges. This creates room for cheaters, scrupulous people, and fake agents to trap the students in the name of assured admissions.
“These people ask for hefty money from the students”, says Noor Nawaz Khan, director of Delhi based Coaching, The Hind Guru Academy and the admission support agency, The Hind Guru Educational Services. “They will collect money for many students. Students will get admission of their own, but they will claim, they did it. If someone fails to secure admission they will return some money, but it is a scam”, he adds.
Actually, the students worried about securing a seat during the counselling or those who have scored less in the NEET exam try to get admission from the backdoor. Here comes the role of a cheater. He will give assurance about the admission, but may produce fake letters and claim some fake contacts. They may finally make money and run away, leaving the students with no choices.
“It’s better to appear in NEET Exam 2022 than giving your hard-earned money to such cheats,” says Changhez Khan, managing partner with Delhi based legal firm Diwan Advocates. Every year we file dozen of cases after clients approach us for being cheated”, says Changhez Khan while adding that the only way out is to be careful and to reach the colleges through a proper channel.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has also warned the students to beware of such frauds. “Any case of fraudulent website or agent should be immediately reported to the MCC and First Information Report (FIR) should be lodged by candidates for such matters as soon as possible, the counselling committee has said in its latest notice.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), is responsible for conducting all India quota NEET counselling 2021, for admissions in MBBS, BDS and other medical courses.
How a silly mistake becomes a reason for failure in the NEET exam?
Some students are very brilliant and outstanding in their studies yet they fail to crack the NEET exam. People often ask, what goes wrong in the case of such students. A simple answer is, silly mistake becomes a reason for failure in the NEET exam. Or we can say unwarranted mistakes students commit while attempting the NEET paper are too costly for them.
Simple advice from the experts for the aspirants is while attempting the NEET exam, students should remain careful. Students should try hard to avoid as many mistakes as they can. It is because the competition for a seat in the Government Medical colleges is very tough. A minor mistake can become a too costly affair in the end. To simplify the matter we should say that a single wrong answer can get leave you short of crossing the cut-off line.
Actually, a single wrong answer gets a 1 negative mark in the NEET test. Sometimes students, in order to get some extra marks to play a gamble without knowing the correct answer. This may work or may not. A loss of a single mark can cost a seat in a government medical college. Students should not attempt even a single question in this manner. Also, sometimes in a hurry, due to absence of mind or due to anxiety, students fill the wrong bubble on the OMR sheet, despite knowing the correct answer. This silly mistake may be the end of the road. So, the best way is to be careful, attentive, and cautious.
“Never attempt an answer, unless you are sure about it”, says Razi Akhtar, faculty at The Hind Guru Academy, a NEET coaching in Delhi. “Even one have a fifty-fifty type situation, he or she should leave the answer blank”, he suggests.
Some students think in such situations if the answer goes right, it may fetch full four marks in NEET Result. It may work sometimes but most of the time dicey answers result in the deduction of one mark. Imagine, an aspirant scored 579 marks, and the cut-off for the government medical colleges is 580. It will be more disheartening for the student than to fail directly. Such conditions are demoralizing and students often develop some sort of depression.
So, what to do? The easiest tips to follow in the exam room are:
- Never attempt an answer unless you are sure about it
- Don’t answer in a hurry. Read the question word by word, and properly
- Fill the answer sheet after confirming the choice for an answer
- Fill the bubbles on the OMR sheet properly
- Be attentive in the exam room and follow the instructions
- Sometimes there is a wrong question with an improper answer. Check for it properly
- Answer the easiest questions first and leave the tricky ones for later
- Don’t waste extra time on a single question
- If you don’t know the answer to the first five, six or seven questions, don’t worry.
- Never panic. If time is less and you have much work to do, then also never answer in a hurry
- It’s better to leave an empty response than to attempt a wrong choice
Follow these rules and we are sure that you may clear your NEET exam with a good ranking. Still have any confusion, then meet our counselors. Also, visit our blog regularly for more tips and answer to your queries.
Scoring full 720 marks in the NEET exam isn’t impossible
Attempting a NEET exam and scoring the maximum 720 marks in three hours is a very tricky thing. Most of the students fell prey to depression, anxiety or stress. Though it is tough, scoring full 720 marks in the NEET exam isn’t impossible.
A NEET exam question paper contains a total of 180 questions. It is a multiple-choice question or MCQ format paper. Out of these 180 questions, 45 are asked in Physics, 45 in Chemistry, and 45 each in Botany and Zoology. Each correct response gets 4 marks and for every wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. Half-filled bubbles are rarely counted by the OMR reader and multi responses as considered a wrong attempt.
To score the maximum marks, the student should keep himself calm, composed, and confident. You have prepared a lot to attempt this exam, so believe in yourself and your hard work. Be careful that you follow all the instructions in the examination hall. While filling in the details and filling the bubbles on the OMR sheet always be extra vigilant. Never attempt an answer in haste, nor fill in your details incorrectly.
Never care for the minor mistakes as this may not cancel your answer sheet. According to the rules mentioned by the National Testing Agency (NTA), no OMR sheet goes unchecked. Even if you have made any mistake in filling in your details it will be checked, unless there is something unbearable.
So, it’s time to answer the questions. Aspirants often ask, “What’s the best way to respond to the question paper?” It is tricky though, but the experiences suggest, one must go for the easiest one first. According to Syed Tanwir Ahmed, coordinator of NEET at Delhi-based premier coaching institute, “The Hind Guru Academy,” always start answering from the portion that is most comfortable for you”.
“Even if there are tough questions in the start and you are not able to answer, five, six, seven of them, don’t panic. Try to switch to the other paper or the next portion and surely it will work”, adds Syed Tanwir Ahmed who teaches Biology for NEET.
Most of the Gurus suggest panic and anxiety are the worst enemies in the examination hall. If the question paper is tough, it is tough for all. If an aspirant is dropping the marks, he is not alone. So, keeping calm and composed is the key to success. “Attempt the easiest questions and if you have spare time, then try to attempt the harder ones. But remember, never answer a wrong question and leave it blank. Even a drop of a single mark can get you out of the merit”, says Manish Gautam, another teacher from Delhi who helps the students in preparation for NEET.

Is Neet Physics Tough -The Common Perception of Medical Students
A prevalent stereotype among medical students revolves around academic strengths, particularly in the context of biology. Some students believe they excel in biology just because their scores in this subject are higher than those in physics and chemistry. For such individuals, an ideal scenario would be an overall easy paper. However, this approach might not yield significant benefits in the end. Even if the paper is easy, their rank may not be impressive, primarily because their knowledge, especially in physics, is formula-based. Thus, the perceived advantage might not translate into a remarkable rank.
Breaking the Mold – The Unconventional Approach of Neet Students
Contrary to the stereotype, there are non-stereotypical medical students, who possess a strong grasp of physics from the beginning but struggle with biology. However, despite the initial challenges, these students manage to achieve decent scores in all subjects. What sets them apart is their balanced performance across disciplines. Their strength lies in physics or chemistry, which becomes the driving force behind their impressive rank. Unlike the stereotypical student, their success isn’t limited to easy papers; instead, their comprehensive understanding and proficiency in specific subjects substantially enhance their overall rank
