It is not necessary that the high fees makes the coaching institute good. Parents should analyse the previous year results. Also, while considering the results, analyse the strata from which students have joined an institute.

Not all students are equal. Some coaching institutes give admission to the students who are already good in studies and have a solid foundation of academics. It is not a miracle to get a brilliant student into the NEET. Miracle is to shape the average students from backward and middle class backgrounds and mould them to fit into the NEET framework and that too at a nominal cost.

Some students think in such situations if the answer goes right, it may fetch full four marks in NEET Result. It may work sometimes but most of the time dicey answers result in the deduction of one mark. Imagine, an aspirant scored 579 marks, and the cut-off for the government medical colleges is 580. It will be more disheartening for the student than to fail directly. Such conditions are demoralizing and students often develop some sort of depression.

So, what to do? The easiest tips to follow in the exam room are:

  • Never attempt an answer unless you are sure about it
  • Don’t answer in a hurry. Read the question word by word, and properly
  • Fill the answer sheet after confirming the choice for an answer
  • Fill the bubbles on the OMR sheet properly
  • Be attentive in the exam room and follow the instructions
  • Sometimes there is a wrong question with an improper answer. Check for it properly
  • Answer the easiest questions first and leave the tricky ones for later
  • Don’t waste extra time on a single question
  • If you don’t know the answer to the first five, six or seven questions, don’t worry.
  • Never panic. If time is less and you have much work to do, then also never answer in a hurry
  • It’s better to leave an empty response than to attempt a wrong choice
