National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET examination every year in offline mode. It is considered one of the toughest examinations in India. A wide syllabus and complicated question paper make it tough for the students to crack the NEET exam. Students often ask, “Which are the best books for NEET preparation” and “Which is the best study material for NEET?”
Students have started their preparations for the NEET Exam 2022 and the NEET Exam 2023. There are a wide variety of study material and a huge range of books available in the material. Most of the publishers claim they have the best books or the best study material for NEET Exam. Maybe their claims are true but the question is, what criteria they have set to claim the best books for NEET?
When we go to the market, we find comprehensive study material. Though the syllabus is one, there are a hundred types of books and study material in the market. This often confuses us and we are unable to make the correct choice. “We should not purchase a book only on the basis of the reputation of a writer or the publisher”, says Noor Nawaz Khan, Director of Delhi-based premium coaching institute for NEET, The Hind Guru Academy in Okhla. “We should check whether the book covers all the topics, have an easy language, easy to understand and clears all our doubts”, he adds.
Actually, preparation for NEET is all about clearing our basic concepts and making the basic strategies. “It doesn’t matter how many pages are there in a book rather what matters is the content”, says Rachna Mittal, a Delhi-based Biology tutor for NEET, while adding that “a good book is the one that clears the doubts and strengthens our knowledge base.
Which book meets the criteria? Experts suggest, “NCERT books still lead the race”, though many publishers have come up with point-to-point, comprehensive books, and study material. Also, premium coaching institutes like Akash, Narayana, Bansal, and The Hind Guru Academy have developed their own study material. These institutes eliminate surplus topics, add a variety of questions and provide content that is easy to understand. Even though some of the institutes charge a high royalty for their study material, but it is worth purchasing.
Hopefully, this clears the confusion about the good books for NEET. Still, if you have some confusion and want to know more about the syllabus, course, and books for the NEET Exam, visit our blog here.
Gone are the days when self-study was considered enough to crack a competition like NEET or IIT-JEE. Cut-throat competition, race for numbers, and ambition to be on top has led to the advent of coaching institutions. But there are some questions like, which coaching, what type of coaching, and where one should go for a coaching. Also, people ask which one is the best coaching or the good coaching institute for competitions like UPSC, NEET and IIT-JEE.
Private coaching doesn’t comes for free. Experienced faculty, good environment, quality books, technology, and state of the art facilities, all come with a price tag. Though, this makes the field for economically weaker section somehow uneven. One who can pay can join anywhere but those who earn their money in hard conditions need to know about the institute and the outcome of their investment. Though, most of the people have accepted that coaching institutions are essential now.
More the coaching Institutions have become the norm, more the debate over their quality and results have grown. What should be the factors behind selecting a good coaching institute is the question. First we should know, what makes a coaching institute “a good coaching institute”. Here are few points to consider.
Where focus is on individuals and not on the groups
Where there is no discrimination and all the participants enjoy an equal attention
Where teachers are experienced, helping and dedicated to their cause
Where personal issues, and doubts are tackled diligently
Where faculty and staff are Non-judgmental
Where the institution keeps confidentiality
Where a coach or the teacher can motivate the students
Where he teachers set an example
Where the teachers have an exceptional Coaching Skill
Also, a good coaching institute for NEET and IIT-JEE must
Build trust by developing a real relationship.
Must lead and concentrate on the success of its students
Must Listen, listen, and listen to the students
Must aim for a single target, i.e. cracking the NEET/IIT-JEE exam
Must keep on upgrading the syllabus
Focusses on “Problem Identification” and “Goal Setting”
Work on Solving the Problems
Must check the progress of students at regular interval
Must keep a check on Transformation of Students
Clearly define the Outcome Parameters and Measure the progress
Provide a regular Feedback to the student and parents on Development
So, if you are looking for a good coaching institute for NEET in Delhi/NCR or a coaching institute for IIT-JEE in Delhi/NCR, you must consider the abovementioned points. For more such information, keep on visiting our blog here.

NEET 2021 Cut Off / Rank Category Wise for BDS in Government Colleges (Expected)
Around 16 lakh students try to crack the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) every year. Around 57 percent of them pass the exam though not all can secure a seat in the government medical colleges. Is NEET Exam very tough to pass?
Official data given by the Medical Council of India (MCI), says there are 272 medical colleges run and administered by central and various state governments/UT administrations. These 272 medical colleges offer a total of 41,388 seats for the MBBS course. Among these, Karnataka offers the highest number of MBBS seats which count 2900 in total. Considering the fact that 16 lakh students running for 41,388 seats in MBBS, competition is very tough.
National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) can be termed as one of the toughest entrance exams in India. The high number of aspirants for MBBS may be due to many factors. Firstly, it is considered a most successful career and a profession where high returns are guaranteed. Another factor for the high competition is the disparity between the fees of private medical colleges and government medical colleges. And offcourse, the large population of India is another factor. With the growing population demand for health services is on the rise and the seats in medical colleges are limited.
If the seats in private medical colleges are also added to the list, there are 542 medical and 313 dental colleges in India. The NEET exam is conducted for admission to as many as 83,125 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, and 525 BVSc & AH seats in all these colleges. MCI information says that MBBS seats in India have been increased by 5200 this year. Furthermore, 50 seats in MBBS will be added to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Considering the high number of aspirants for the NEET exam, these seats are not enough to fulfill the demand.
Not only the number of seats but also the syllabus and exam pattern make NEET one of the toughest examinations in India to crack. Getting admission to MBBS isn’t as easy as it seems. A survey by the Tamil Nadu government suggests as many as 90% of students who clear the NEET exam to join one coaching or the other.
It is not easy to attempt NEET without proper guidance and coaching. Sometimes clearing NEET or surpassing the cut-off only makes you eligible for admission. Most of the times students don’t get admissions because of the low number of seats available.
So what’s the way? Experts say that there is no shortcut. To clear a NEET exam one needs proper concentration, consistent studies, and quality coaching. Quality coaching doesn’t mean the big names in the industry. It means a place where crows are low and one on one training is a norm.
One needs to select the coaching not by the number of students clearing the exam but by the ratio of students appearing and clearing the exam. Some coaching institutes enroll thousand plus students but their success ratio is below 7 or 8 percent. There are few who get 10-15 out of 50-60 students who attempted NEET. This makes the difference. To know how to clear the NEET exam easily, read the article by clicking here.
Wondering if NEET can be conquered without coaching? Curious if self-study is the path to NEET triumph?

Is NEET achievable without formal coaching?
If these uncertainties linger in your mind, you’re at the right destination. As the NEET 2024 date is locked in for May 5, 2024, it’s time for aspirants to assess their strategies.” Confidence & regular study routines is the key to cracking NEET.
The NEET Challenge: Scoring High in a Wide Syllabus
NEET Result 2023 statistics reveal that to secure a coveted seat in a reputed medical college, a student typically needs to achieve a score of around 600 marks. Yet, this feat is far from easy. The NEET syllabus spans a wide range of topics, and the competition is intense. These remarkable individuals are characterized by their exceptional dedication to their studies and unwavering commitment to their goals. However, it’s crucial to recognize that not everyone follows the same path.
Cracking NEET without Coaching: A Formula for Success
For those who opt not to join a coaching institute for NEET, success demands a well-structured approach. Here’s a winning formula:

Why Coaching Is Essential to crack NEET 2024
NEET Coaching becomes essential for several reasons:
Changing Question Patterns: NEET questions rarely remain the same year after year. Even if a question is repeated, it often appears in a different format or with altered language. Not all students can adapt to these variations.
Varied Syllabus Emphasis: Some NEET topics hold more weight and are more likely to yield high scores than others. Coaching helps identify these crucial topics and tailors your syllabus accordingly.
Individualized Guidance: Every student has unique strengths and weaknesses. Coaching institutes evaluate students individually and assign teachers who can address their weaknesses effectively.
Expert Guidance: NEET academy coaching offers students access to experienced instructors who provide expert guidance and insights, ensuring a strong foundation in the subject matter.
Structured Learning: These academies offer a structured curriculum that covers the entire NEET syllabus systematically, leaving no gaps in students’ knowledge.
Regular Practice: Coaching institutes facilitate regular practice through mock tests and practice papers, helping students become familiar with the exam format and time management.
Peer Interaction: Students can interact with peers, exchange ideas, and engage in healthy competition, motivating them to perform at their best.
Personalized Attention: Many NEET academies provide personalized attention to address individual weaknesses, ensuring each student’s progress.
Updated Study Material: Coaching institutes keep study material up-to-date, aligning it with the latest exam patterns and trends.
Boosted Confidence: Effective coaching boosts students’ confidence levels, helping them approach the NEET exam with a positive mindset.
Time Management Skills: Coaching teaches students time management skills, ensuring they can answer all questions within the stipulated exam time.
Comprehensive Test Series: NEET academy coaching often includes comprehensive test series that simulate real exam conditions, allowing students to assess their readiness.
Career Guidance: Some coaching institutes offer career guidance to help students make informed choices about their future in the medical field.
Finding the Best Coaching for NEET
When searching for a Neet coaching institute, prioritize those that provide individualized attention. At prestigious institutions like The Hind Guru Academy, students receive personalized evaluation, enabling teachers to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses. This tailored approach is instrumental in helping students overcome their challenges.
While premium coaching institutes may have higher fees, they also offer greater chances of selection, making them a worthwhile investment. Consider this expenditure an investment in your future. Considering the steep costs of MBBS programs in private medical colleges, the value of coaching for NEET becomes even more apparent.

The NEET journey often presents a pivotal question: Is coaching a prerequisite for success? Let’s navigate this decision-making process, considering essential factors that can influence your path to NEET triumph.
Self-Sufficiency vs. Coaching Guidance: Coaching institutes provide structure, timetables, and study materials. But, if you’re confident in your self-driven approach, self-study may suffice.
Selecting Study Materials: The right study materials are vital. Coaching institutes simplify this by curating resources. Alternatively, self-study seekers can seek advice from educators or accomplished NEET candidates.
Dedication and Procrastination: NEET demands unwavering dedication and discipline. Can you maintain it independently, or do coaching institute incentives, like guidance and competition, boost your motivation?
Seeking Support: In the quest for success, seeking assistance is acceptable. Coaching institutes offer structured support, while self-study may involve reaching out to peers, mentors, or educators.
Financial Considerations: Affordability matters. If coaching fees are within reach, you can benefit from their offerings. Yet, many NEET successes have emerged from self-study.
Understanding Competition: Awareness of competition is essential. Coaching institutes foster a competitive environment. If this motivates you, coaching might be the way. Self-study allows for a more solitary journey.
The Significance of Ranks in NEET: Your Competitive Edge
In the NEET landscape, ranks hold a distinctive place. They serve as a reflection of your performance in comparison to your peers. NEET ranks influence not only your eligibility for medical college admissions but also your choice of specialization and future professional opportunities. A high rank not only secures your seat but also distinguishes you as a top-performing candidate. This may work or may not. A loss of a single mark can cost a seat in a government medical college. Students should not attempt even a single question in this manner. Also, sometimes in a hurry, due to absence of mind or due to anxiety, students fill the wrong bubble on the OMR sheet, despite knowing the correct answer. This silly mistake may be the end of the road. So, the best way is to be careful, attentive, and cautious.
“Never attempt an answer, unless you are sure about it”, says Razi Akhtar, faculty at The Hind Guru Academy, a NEET coaching in Delhi. “Even one have a fifty-fifty type situation, he or she should leave the answer blank”, he suggests.
Some students think in such situations if the answer goes right, it may fetch full four marks in NEET Result. It may work sometimes but most of the time dicey answers result in the deduction of one mark. Imagine, an aspirant scored 579 marks, and the cut-off for the government medical colleges is 580. It will be more disheartening for the student than to fail directly. Such conditions are demoralizing and students often develop some sort of depression.
So, what to do? The easiest tips to follow in the exam room are:
Never attempt an answer unless you are sure about it
Don’t answer in a hurry. Read the question word by word, and properly
Fill the answer sheet after confirming the choice for an answer
Fill the bubbles on the OMR sheet properly
Be attentive in the exam room and follow the instructions
Sometimes there is a wrong question with an improper answer. Check for it properly
Answer the easiest questions first and leave the tricky ones for later
Don’t waste extra time on a single question
If you don’t know the answer to the first five, six or seven questions, don’t worry.
Never panic. If time is less and you have much work to do, then also never answer in a hurry
It’s better to leave an empty response than to attempt a wrong choice

More than 16 lakh candidates have attempted the NEET exam 2021 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). To check the results students must visit the official website of NTA, i.e. www.neet.nta.nic.in. After accessing the site, students are asked to log in by entering roll number and date of birth. A scorecard with All India Rank scored marks, and percentile score then appears on the screen. Also, marks corresponding to the cut-off percentile are also announced with the NEET result.
Once the student gets his/her scorecard, starts the race for admissions. In 2020 cut off for the unreserved or the general category students was 720-147. For OBC students cut off was 146-113, while 146-113 for SC/ST’s, 146-129 for UR/EWS- PH, and 128-113 for OBC/SC/ST – PH.
NTA prepares an all India merit list on the basis of cut-off and marks secured by the candidates in the NEET exam. Students who score more than the cut-off are eligible for 15 per cent of all India quota counselling. All India Quota is to be filled based on NEET 2021 rank and as per the statutory regulation of MCI/NMC/DCI. For the admission to the remaining 85 per cent of seats, states are supposed to conduct individual counselling. This year NTA conducted the NEET UG Exam on September 12, 2021, across 202 cities at 3858 centres across India and abroad.
Now, the question is, how marks will be enough to secure a seat in top Medical Colleges? Experts say it is a tricky question. It depends on the merit and quota mathematics. As per norms, students from the general or unreserved category needs a 50 cut-off percentile. It means, 360 or above marks out of 720 are required in order to get admission to MBBS in a government medical college. But, this is only a criterion. In 2020 students who failed to get 580 marks missed the chance.
“We have students who scored 578 and 577 but they didn’t get a seat in government medical college”, says Tanvir Ahmed, coordinator for NEET course at Delhi based coaching institute, The Hind Guru Academy. “Students make silly mistakes and miss their chance”, he adds.
